A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED
KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA

This is for all the kids born in the 70's who do
not remember, and didn't have to bear the
burden that our fathers, mothers and older
brothers and sisters had to bear.

Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the
"100 Women of the Century."

Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still
countless others have never known how Ms.
Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country,
but specific men who served and sacrificed
during Vietnam.

The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot.

The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.

In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF
Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison
the "Hanoi Hilton."

Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell,
cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was
ordered to describe for a visiting American
"Peace Activist" the "lenient and humane
treatment" he'd received.

He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was
dragged away.
During the subsequent beating, he fell forward
on to the camp Commandant's feet, which
sent that officer berserk.

In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from
double vision (which permanently ended his
flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied
application of a wooden baton.

From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the
47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the
"Hanoi Hilton",,, the first three of which his
family only knew he was "missing in action".
His wife lived on faith that he was still alive.
His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and
clothed routine in preparation for a
"peace delegation" visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan to
get word to the world that they were alive
and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny
piece of paper, with his Social Security Number
on it, in the palm of his hand.

When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a
cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each
man's hand and asking little encouraging
snippets like: "Aren't you sorry you bombed
babies?" and "Are you grateful for the humane
treatment from your benevolent captors?"
Believing this HAD to be an act, they each
palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat. At the
end of the line and once the camera stopped
rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs,
she turned to the officer in charge and handed
him all the little pieces of paper.

Three men died from the subsequent beatings.
Colonel Carrigan was almost number four
but he survived, which is the only reason we
know of her actions that day.

I was a civilian economic development advisor
in Vietnam, and was captured by the North
Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in
1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.

I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one
year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year
in a "black box" in Hanoi.
My North Vietnamese captors deliberately
poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a
nurse in a leprosarium in Ban me Thuot, South
Vietnam, whom I buried in the jungle near the
Cambodian border.
At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs.
(My normal weight is 170 lbs.)

We were Jane Fonda's "war criminals."

When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi, I was asked by
the camp communist political officer if I would
be willing to meet with her.

I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real
treatment we POWs received... and how
different it was from the treatment purported by
the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as
"humane and lenient."

Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky
floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched
with a large steel weights placed on my hands,
and beaten with a bamboo cane.

I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda
soon after I was released. I asked her
if she would be willing to debate me on TV.
She never did answer me.

These first-hand experiences do not exemplify
someone who should be honored as part
of "100 Years of Great Women."
Lest we forget..." 100 Years of Great Women"
should never include a traitor whose hands are
covered with the blood of so many patriots.

There are few things I have strong visceral
reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in
blatant treason, is one of them.
Please take the time to forward to as many
people as you possibly can.
It will eventually end up on her computer and
she needs to know that we will never forget.

didnt it occur to you that it might be a little early for nominations for this century and too late for the last one?

youve republished an email hoax thats been making the rounds since 1999 according to the good people at myths of womens' history LINK

additionaly, only the third of those three 'true' tales has any basis in fact.

and if you go to the bottom of the page and click on the 'next' link youll discover hillary didnt pull a train fulla black panthers or something equally inane.

Reminding the public of Hanoi Jane's treasonous activities is wrong? Do you deny Hanoi Jane was a traitor? The harm done by so-called Americans (Hanoi Jane types in a time of war), exercising free speech, to our troops is well documented.

There's good reason this "myth" is once again being circulated. It's the sentiment ... Mr. King. Moreover, debunked ... by CBS? It's true that she pysically went to Vietnam; for which she apologized in a half-hearted way. Indeed, she did worse; so while you characterize the truth as "Inane," others revisit the truth to make sense of today's irrational dissent.

Fact is that the supposed dissent practiced by Hanoi Jane and her liberal ilk has killed many a man. I believe her conduct is unforgivable.

Reminding the public of Hanoi Jane's treasonous activities is wrong?

copying the text of a hysterical cry to action when the book was published in 1999 just bumps the net noise level up a lil more without really accomplishing anything but reducing the chances of having your message taken seriously.

i have no idea why you brought up cbs.  the link i provided will easily lead you to david emory's article debunking the first two of those 'true' stories of treason in which youll find the following:

Mike McGrath, currently serving as the president of Nam-POWs, has worked hard to help Driscoll and Carrigan squelch the false rumors circulating under their names.

"They would like to get their names removed but the story seems to have a life of its own," he told me. "There are a lot of folks out there who would love to have a story like that to hang their hat and their hate on."

it would seem youre the one who is abusing two former pows by republishing the 'false rumors'.

Fact is that the supposed dissent practiced by Hanoi Jane and her liberal ilk has killed many a man

as far as responsibility for killing many an american soldier in vietnam, you might want to investigate the 1968 nixon campaign's culpability for the deaths of 20000 of our troops as a result of their back-channel offer to the north vietnamese government in order to prevent them from signing a treaty prior to the election in that year.

yeah well you coulda tried.  using "starbucks myth iraq' as google keywords results in this as the first hit Link

at the bottom of that page, youll find this:

Dear Readers,

Almost 5 months ago I sent an e-mail to you my faithful friends. I did a wrong thing that needs to be cleared up. I heard by word of mouth about how Starbucks said they didn't support the war and all. I was having enough of that kind of talk and didn't do my research properly like I should have. This is not true. Starbucks supports men and women in uniform. They have personally contacted me and I have been sent many copies of their company's policy on this issue. So I apologize for this quick and wrong letter that I sent out to you.

Now I ask that you all pass this email around to everyone you passed the last one to. Thank you very much for understanding about this.

Kingbee, man, you're good.

How's this for a lame try:

July 8 - 22, 1972 -- Jane Fonda visits Hanoi, where she makes numerous radio broadcasts to American military personnel, encouraging mutiny and desertion while repeatedly claiming that the United States is committing war crimes in Vietnam. Fonda also visits American prisoners, reporting on the air that they are being "well cared for" and that they wished to convey their "sense of disgust of the war and their shame for what they have been asked to do." Upon leaving North Vietnam, Fonda accepts from her hosts a ring made from the wreckage of a downed American plane. [ed.-- could that be John McCain's plane?]

Your post has some truth to it, but a lot of fiction too.

Link

The Piece about the slips of paper is false, but her being profiled in 1999 as one of the centuries '100 greatest women' is true.

Havne't found anything to discredit the plane ring yet, but I'll keep looking.  I seriously doubt that's true.

Quit trying to change the subject! *Hitparade* was talking anout " Hanoi Jane" NOT Richard Nixon. What you just tried to do, downplays "Hanoi Janes's" treasonous activities. And it will NOT fly with ANYONE who remembers what really happened.

no...i was responding to his comment about fonda being responsible for 'killing many a man'.  if that were true (and i dont know how it could be proved), she would have been prosecuted. neither j edgar hoover nor nixon had shown any reluctance to publicly condemn those they believed to be traitors or treasonous in the past...and they were certainly in control in 1972.   as far as 'what really happened', there very likely would not have been a war for her to protest in 1972 nor any americans in harm's way in vietnam had not the 68 nixon campaign flagrantly violated the logan act and kept the war going for 6 more years during which time 20,000 americans lost their lives.

a ring made from the wreckage of a downed American plane. [ed.-- could that be John McCain's plane?]

im unable to find anything that confirms or refutes the ring incident (except for what appears to be the original claim repeated word-for-word).  werent most vietnam era planes fabricated mostly of aluminum or aluminum alloys?  if so, was there any component more suitable for ring-making? in any event, the chances of mccain's plane being the source would seem slim and none.
