I am in Florida. I came here determined to make a difference. My initial goal was to personally deliver more than 500 votes to the polls in a mini-school bus I bought for just this purpose.

I am pleased to report that I will far exceed the 500 mark. I have already transported more than 200 Bush supporters to the polls. Most were elderly, who live at my grandmother’s retirement home. I have also visited two similar communities. Before I finish on Election Day, I expect I will have personally delivered more than 1,900 Bush votes.

I must say that these elderly people are good folk; most have been abandoned and woefully neglected by their wayward, self-absorbed children. I am sure it will not surprise any one to learn that the “prodigal” kids of these elderly folk are, universally, kerry supporters. At the start of the election, most of these elderly folk, interestingly, were also leaning kerry. After a bit of chatting with them, I am pleased to say that I have persuaded them that Bush would not, contrary to the democrat machine’s campaign of scare and smear, dismantle social security. How did I persuade them to vote for Bush, notwithstanding democrat propaganda and lies? By talking turkey and engaging them in thoughtful political discourse.

I also implored them to set an example for the Nation to follow by standing up against kerry’s proclivity to hide our Nation’s collective head in the proverbial sand. You know that pre-911 kerry mindset of life in the supposedly carefree ‘90’s. And they agreed that the man in the Oval office could not sit idly by, with Monica under his desk, allowing threats to gather. These good folk agreed that the carefree ‘90’s of Clinton & Monica, in the aftermath of the horror of 911, was simply not an option. Yes, I asked them to reject the “carefree Clinton/Monica ‘90‘s” and remember the 911 victims... Our peple's safety.

I implored the elderly to care more about this basic concern-- on which everything else in this Country -- world-- will simply either stand or fall, than any self-interest. I asked them to use their votes so as to never again allow thousands of people to be horrifically murdered in a single stroke, as on 911. I implored them to recognize the urgency of the situation; that the war had already actually begun, and that the clock could not be turned back pre-911. And they agreed that there simply was no stuffing the Jeannie back into his bottle. That kerry’s life long dream of being the next “JFK” was not an excuse for distracting the Nation’s attention from fighting this complex and comprehensive war on terror. They agreed that the 3000 dead on 911 demanded, not a mere police investigation, but war. They agreed that it boiled down to sheer deception on the part of kerry to disconnect the war on terror and the fight in Iraq.

The overwhelming result of my plain talk was that these good folk erupted out of the retirement of their pre-911 mindset and resolved to go out there and win one for the Gipper. In their wisdom, they agreed that the protection of our people, the security of our Nation, is the government’s paramount charge.

I asked them to stiffen the Nation’s backbone by voting Bush. I reminded them that civilization was no less at stake in this complex war on terror, as it was when the Nation rallied to defeat the sin called Nazi Germany, and scourge known as Red communism. They agreed that the world was at war and America could not afford retreat and defeat. In the end, we all agreed that kerry’s disingenuous campaign to disconnect the war on terror from Iraq was simply the shameless opportunism of a cynical and calculating politician. After we spoke bluntly, we then hugged, and played checkers. We even sang and danced.

I have several military buddies who have also purchased mini-school buses. They are also on their way to their grandparents’ respective retirement homes, where they hope to each deliver no less than 500 Bush votes to the polls. The mini-bus Bush vote movement is growing by leaps and bounds. Buy a mini-bus, and jump on board by driving them elderly folk to the polls. Just make sure they're Bush votes. No less than civilization is at stake. How many more 911’s can this Nation suck up? The grasshopper is at your feet. The blind man will show you. Peace!

You are truly an example of why we need to devote more funding to public education. You have the same problem that Bush has, you ignore the facts when forming a conclusion. Everything you wrote is incorrect and jaded. You probably drive around listening to Rush Limbaugh and letting him tell you "what to think". Personally I try a different more radical approach. I read and form my own opinions.
Good for you swaying the Florida vote. Way to exploit the elderly and cheat democracy. Instead of telling people to vote, you tell them how to vote. Saddam did the same thing right before we invaded? He held an election and told the people how to vote. He won in a landslide. I guess he had a democracy you would be proud of....

And *you* have the same problem Kerry does! It's called lack of vision.

Everybody percieves things differently so drop the holier than thou act. Learn some basic psychology before you go mouthing off that your conclusions are what everybody should hold. As for him cheating and everything I already said something once about.

I bet the people complaining about Hitparade's community work would not be complaining if he said he got them to vote for Kerry.

If I had the time, money, and drive like Hitparade has, I would be busing in Michael Badnarik supporters, but no we must not look at one person's good deeds instead we must pick it apart and look at the little things. I am sure Hitparade is talking to all of them and just because he says they are voting for Bush does not mean they are voting for Bush, he just discussed some options with them and got rid of some of the scare tactics used. If you really must complain how about you get up and do something!!

Typing of the subject, I need to help my fellow local Libertarians in founding Allen County's Libertarian Party group, since there are already a local DNC and RNC we just need to band together and found a local Libertarian Party group.

So quit the moaning and groaning just because you have that 'excessive party spirit' running through your veins.

Your comment makes no sense. Are you suggesting that Kerry has no vision because he doesn't exploit retirement communities. I was speaking of why I believe it is wrong to grab elderly shut ins and use them for your cause. How it's even worse to brag about it. If you want to comment pleae do.

Your comments make no sense either! "hitparade" is "grabbing" no one to use for his cause? All he's doing is providing a means for the "shut-ins" to get to the polling place!

I had to get this across as soon as possible. My sources tell me that Pres. Bush will visit the troops in Iraq on the eve of the election. He will salute & honor them. Win, loose or draw, the troops know the Pres. stood by them while others ran for political cover.

P.S.

Some of the eldery are now shuttling voters to the polls in their own cars.

If waht someone up there said is true about the Patriot Act II, I will have a very scathing article coming up. Expect it. Fear it.

"Bush is the worst president we ever had." that is what Mobcoa said a few replies back...

and all I have to say to that, is "Amen"! (religious reference is coincidental! )
Glad to hear that there are indeed others with some sense! Like I stated earlier, Kerry may not be yours or my own "ideal", but shit, Bush is am embarrassement to this country! It is shamefull, downright shamefull, the atrocities that the U.S. has committed these past few years, under Bush's administration. I mean let's just take one more look into what he'd have us believe: The reason that the U.S. invaded and took over Iraq, is to liberate the people, set them free from Saddam's evil empire. But also, it's to stop this evil terrorist, from committing crimes against the world. ....Riiiigghhhtttt! If you believe that, then, uh, I got a nice ranch in Antarctica to sell ya! No mention of seizing the 2nd largest oil reserve in the world is mentioned as a reason, yet U.S. corporations are earning MULTI BILLION DOLLAR CONTRACTS, due to the takeover. I suppose that is just coinidental or circmstancial, or something like that, huh? Ok, since when has the U.S. decided it needs to become the police officer for the world? There are a lot of nations in Africa, fo instance, where women are being mutilated, children are dying from the shits, tze tze flies, AIDS, and other things, or where there are hostile dictatorships that are doing wrong to it's people, but you don't see the U.S. coming to rescue them! WHY not? because there is nothing of value to the Government of the U.S. (like, uh, OIL for instance). That alone, is just disgusting that Bush and his cronies use the excuse of "liberating the locals" as reason for invasion, when actually it was done to obtain oil. If you think otherwise, you are just fooling yourself. Wake up America, we cannot vote for Bush! Don't waste votes on Nader either, because he is never going win it, and that's the truth! Voting for him is just one less vote for Kerry, and Kerry is the only logical alternative at this point. You may not like his wife, or all of his ideas, but do you like the idea of the most powerful man in the world, lying to us, leading us to war and unemployment lines, continuing these antics for anther four fucking years? Here's some insight the news won't report. Exit poll feedback across much of Florida is that Bush is considerably ahead of kerry. I haven't observed anyone enthusiastically working the ground on behalf of kerry. Some sporadic activity, designed for the news coverage, is all they seem capable of mustering up.
on Oct 24, 2004
How the heck are you getting exit poll feedback? And does it truly matter if the majority of early voters (which probably represent <1% of total Florida voters) are voting for Bush?

I live in Florida myself and will be voting for Kerry. 2/3 of my workmates (out of 300) are voting Kerry. At school, nearly everyone has pledged to vote and will be voting Kerry. Most of my neighbors will be voting Kerry. Don't know where you're canvassing Hitparade, but it sure isn't in my neck of the woods. Good luck on your attempt at tipping the scales in Bush's favor - sometime around Nov2 you'll see the light and determine it didn't make a difference...

We don't vote for a President, we vote for a party. What's wrong with this picture?
on Oct 24, 2004
Jorath13

As to the numbers you tout voting for kerry, they are truly extraordinary. kerry is a shoe in. You should alert the media. An aberration/or delusional hallucination always makes for good news. "Workmates" is not typical Floridian lexicon?

I have no party loyalty. I'm an American; plain & simple. Nader would make a far better President than kerry; maybe even Bush, if we weren't at war. You apparently buy into the two party dictatorship. Twiddel Dee & Twidle Dumb. I tolerate it because of the urgency of protecting America from another 911. Otherwise, I would vigorously work to break their stranglehold. Thank God for the Constitution's protections.

Quite frankly, the Nation you know (and apparently take for granted) cannot survive another 911. In the aftermath, the Nation will be become a police state in effect. A military dictatorship. This, grasshopper, is why we must endeavor to beat the clock. Stop it at all cost. Bush implicitly understands this though he does not remotely do enough, but wil do far more than kerry. Let me stress, that we cannot permit another 911. kerry simply has no appreciation of the gravity, the magnitude, of the situation. The President rhetorically has asked kerry what he believes, e.g., Al-Zarqawi would be doing if not beheading American's in Iraq. Running a small business.... To what end would this terrorist be working unimpeded if we were not in Iraq ? These terrorist are nihilist. The only way to deal with them is to kill them.

As for another 911, Jaorath13, I pray the storm never crashes upon your shore. Remember how you felt that day (assuming you don't believe "we had it coming"; in which case I've wasted my words)? Imagine your loved one had to leap from the 103rd floor for a few extra seconds of life, and, moreover, so as not to burn to death; take that and times it by infinity, and then you'll get only a fleeting taste of the sorrow that wounds my heart.
on Oct 24, 2004
I respect what you are doing, but why on earth would you do this for Bush? Not only is he going to win the state anyways, but he's also a major jerk. It seems to me that you are doing this to convince yourself that you have some sort of effect on the political system (that's why you are posting this here for us to see rather than beeing content with merely doing it). Plus, you need a little work on your math... 1,700 more people with 9 days to go??? I don't think so.
